Welcome

HELLO THIRD GRADERS!

It is important to set time aside to attend the Parent Math Workshops. Dr. Meier will teach you about "Build It, Show It, Know It" using math manipulatives. If you attend, you will receive a set of manipulatives to use for the year.

A third grade reading list is available now for Battle of the Books. Ask your Resource Teacher for a copy if you are interested.

In third grade, students need to develop single paragraphs including a topic sentence and supporting details (Standard 3.1). Begin working on this skill early in the year. By the end of third grade students should be able to write narrative and descriptive paragraphs, as well as personal and formal letters. Refer to your third grade handbook for further details.

Please remember to continue using the test prep material listed on the grid in both Language Arts and Math so you have a jump start for state testing in the spring.

Third grade students are required to complete 100 minutes of physical education each week. Try to incorporate exercises and activities that include cardio, strength, and flexibility in your daily rountine.
